History
Arakawa-yūenchimae Station (SA 12) is a Toden Arakawa Line tram stop in Nishi-Ogu, Arakawa-ku, Tokyo. It opened on 1 April 1913 as Arakawa-yūenmae when the Ōji Electric Tramway opened its Mi-no-wa (now Mi-no-wabashi) – Asukayama-shita (now Kajiwara) section, was renamed Ogu-rokuchōme on 1 September 1939, became a stop on the Tokyo City Tramway's Arakawa Line (now the Toden) on 1 February 1942 when the Ōji Electric Tramway was transferred to Tokyo City, was renamed Nishi-Ogu-Nanachōme on 15 September 1965 when the local address system was reorganised, and took its present name, Arakawa-yūenchimae, in 1983.
Notes
The stop has carried four names: it opened as Arakawa-yūenmae in 1913, became Ogu-rokuchōme in 1939, was renamed Nishi-Ogu-Nanachōme in 1965 when the new residential address system was introduced in the district, and took its present name, Arakawa-yūenchimae, in 1983.
