Location

History

Agi Station opened on 24 May 1933 as a general station when the Japanese National Railways' Akechi Line opened between Ōi and Agi. Freight handling ended on 21 May 1961, making it a passenger-only station, and on 1 April 1974 ticket sales and gate checking were discontinued; parcel handling ended on 1 December of the same year, and the station became unstaffed. At the transfer to the Akechi Railway on 16 November 1985, the crossing facilities (one platform, one track) that had until then been in place were abolished. It currently operates as an unstaffed station with only a single side platform serving one track.

Notes

The station building at Agi Station is still used today as a dental clinic, and an Akechi Type 1 railcar is kept on a siding on the Akechi side, used as a storage shed.
