History

Zenjino Station opened on 24 April 1925 on what is now the Meitetsu Hiromi Line. It became unstaffed on 1 October 1967. A station-cluster management system was installed in 2007: the new building's construction began on 28 April that year, and the Transpass ticketing system entered service on 8 August. The station sits among low wooded hills near Aichi's border with Gifu, and a small roundabout south of the platforms was completed in March 2004 after widening the connector road from the busy road on the higher ground to the south. The old Kisokaidō post town of Zenjino-juku once lay nearby.

Notes

Zenjino sits beside the Tōkai Nature Trail and is used as the start or finish point for hiking courses, including one to Tsugao-san and another that climbs Hatobuki-yama and comes out at Kanigawa Station.
