History
Yunoki Station opened on 1 July 1934 as Motoichiba Stop on the Fuji Minobu Railway. On 1 October 1938, when the Fuji Minobu Railway was leased to the Ministry of Railways and became the Minobu Line, it was upgraded to a full station and became Motoichiba Station. The Fuji Minobu Railway was formally nationalized on 1 May 1941. On 28 September 1969, with the relocation of the line between Fuji and Iriyamase, the station moved about 1.5 km west to its present site and was renamed Yunoki Station. It became unstaffed on 20 September 1972, and passed to JR Central with the division and privatization of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. The "TOICA" IC card became usable on 13 March 2010.
Notes
Before relocation, the old Motoichiba Station stood about 1.5 km east of the current site, in Motoichiba, Fuji City; its former site has been developed as part of the "Fuji Ryokudō" walking path, which makes use of the Minobu Line's former right-of-way.
