History

Yunohora-Onsen-guchi Station opened on 15 July 1926 as Itatoriguchi Station, the terminus when the Ministry of Railways' Etsumi-Nanbo Line opened between Mino-machi (now Mino-shi) Station and this station, in Hogiwaki, Mino City, Gifu Prefecture. It became a through station when the line was extended between this station and Minosuhara Station (now Hanno) on 10 April 1927, and was renamed Mino-Tachibana Station on 20 December 1956. Freight handling ended on 10 October 1959, and parcel handling ended, with the station becoming unstaffed, on 1 December 1974. When the Etsumi-Nanbo Line was converted to the Nagara River Railway on 11 December 1986 the station passed to that company and was renamed to its current name, Yunohora-Onsen-guchi, at the same time. Its station number is 13, and it is a ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track; a waiting room is provided inside the station building.

Notes

In the 60 years from its 1926 opening to 1986, the station was renamed twice, passing through the names Itadoriguchi, Mino-Tachibana, and Yunohora-Onsen-guchi.
