History
Yōson-Kōen Station opened on 20 September 1947 as Aizu-Ochiai Station on the Japanese Government Railways network. Freight handling ended in April 1967 and parcel handling that November, at which point the station became unstaffed; it passed to JR East at the division and privatization of JNR in April 1987, and was renamed Yōson-Kōen Station on 16 July of the same year when the line converted to the Aizu Railway. Until the March 2006 timetable revision, the character 鱒 ("trout") in the station name was written in its old form. Located at Ochiai, Shimogō, Minami-Aizu District, Fukushima Prefecture, it is an unstaffed, ground-level station with a single platform serving one track and a log-cabin-style station building. The station-name sign reads "Looking out on the white smoke of Nasu."
Notes
Until the March 2006 timetable revision, the character 鱒 as used on the station-name sign and elsewhere was written in its old form, with ハ in the upper right portion.
