History
Yoshinohara Station opened on 22 December 1983 with the Omiya–Hanuki section of the Saitama New Urban Transit Ina Line (New Shuttle), and is numbered NS06. The merger of Urawa, Omiya and Yono on 1 May 2001 made the address Saitama City, and designated-city status on 1 April 2003 made it Kita-ku. Suica became usable on 18 March 2007, and on 20 March 2026 the sub-name Hitachi Nico Transmission-mae appeared on station name signs, on the fare charts above the ticket machines, in on-board announcements and elsewhere. The elevated station's two side platforms and two tracks flank the Tohoku and Joetsu Shinkansen viaduct; the ticket gate is at the Uchijuku end and the north side faces National Route 16.
Notes
The station is named after Yoshinohara, a former oaza (大字) that once existed around the Kita-ku neighbourhood of Yoshinocho where the station stands.
