History

Yoshinari Station opened on 1 July 1916 on the privately operated Awa Electric Railway, later the Awa Railway. After the company was nationalised on 1 July 1933 the station passed to Japanese Government Railways as part of the Awa Line; on 20 March 1935 it became a station on the Kōtoku Main Line. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 the station came under JR Shikoku, and it is today served by the Kōtoku Line. The surrounding area includes Seikō-en Elementary School and Seikō-en Junior and Senior High School, together with Ōjin Elementary School and Ōjin Junior High School.
