History
Yoshikawa-kōen Station opened on 24 March 1999 as a stop on the Chiba Urban Monorail Line 1 in Chūō-ku, Chiba City. The station is an elevated facility with a single island platform serving two tracks and is operated as an unstaffed station. PASMO IC cards became usable on 14 March 2009. Located in the middle of central Chiba and abutting the Chūō district's commercial area, the station sits directly above the Yoshikawa River and the Yoshikawa Park that runs along it, with National Route 14 — along which the monorail's 'Central Arch' section runs — passing to the north of the station and National Route 126 to the east.
Notes
East of the station, the Chiba Ginza shopping street runs through Chūō 2- and 3-chōme, from beside the Chiba Central Twin Building No. 2 to the Tōgane highway, a downtown strip of restaurants and specialty shops. Government offices, among them the Chiba District Public Prosecutors Office, are clustered in Chūō 4-chōme on the station's south side.
