History

Yoshihisa Station was a station (now closed) of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) Shinminato Line, formerly located in Nōmachi, Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. It was established as a stop on 27 January 1918, simultaneously with the opening of the Nōmachi–Shinminato section of the Chūetsu Railway, Toyama Prefecture's first railway, and initially handled passengers only. It became a station of the government-operated railway (Railway Ministry) with the nationalization of the Chūetsu Railway on 1 September 1920, after which the scope of freight and parcel handling was revised several times. The main station building and official residence were rebuilt in April 1928. It was abolished on 1 April 1951 when passenger service on the Shinminato Line was discontinued. Takaoka Freight Station was relocated near the former site in 2002.

Notes

The station opened as a stop on the Chūetsu Railway, Toyama Prefecture's first railway. A Man'yō Line stop called "Yoshihisa" now stands near the former site, effectively carrying on the station name.
