History

Yōrō-keikoku Station is a station of the Kominato Railway Line located in Asōbara, Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture. It was established as Asōbara Station on 16 May 1928 and renamed Yōrō-keikoku on 1 December 1954. A foot bath was installed on the station grounds on 26 April 2008. Registration of the station building as a national Tangible Cultural Property (structure) was recommended on 18 November 2016, and it was formally registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property under the name "Kominato Railway Yōrō-keikoku Station Building" on 2 May 2017. In March of that year, the paved roundabout in front of the station was deliberately removed and the parking area and similar facilities eliminated in a "reverse development" that returned the station forecourt to a plaza planted with trees and flowers.

Notes

In 2017 a "reverse development" was carried out in which the paving and parking area of the station forecourt were deliberately removed and trees and flowers planted, returning it to something like a forest.
