History

Yasutake Station is a Nishi-Nippon Railroad (Nishitetsu) Tenjin Ōmuta Line station at Yasutakehon, Yasutake-machi, Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture; its station number is T31. It opened as an Ōkawa Railway station on 30 December 1912, and Ōkawa Railway was absorbed into Kyushu Railway in June 1937. On 1 October that year the section from Tsufuku through this station to Daizenji was regauged to 1,435 mm and electrified, and incorporated into the Ōmuta Line. It became a Nishi-Nippon Railroad station through the merger and reorganization of September 1942, and its station building was rebuilt in 1966. The IC card "nimoca" became usable there from 18 May 2008, and station numbering was introduced in 2017. On 1 April 2022 a centralized station management system was introduced, and the station became unstaffed.

Notes

The platform's effective length is only six cars on both the up and down sides, so when a seven-car train arrives during rush hour, the single leading car at the Fukuoka end is handled as passing through, keeping its doors closed while the train is stopped.
