History
Yashū-Ōtsuka Station opened on 1 November 1931 on the Tobu Utsunomiya Line in what is now Ōtsuka-machi, Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture. The station sits 3.9 kilometres from the line's southern terminus at Shin-Tochigi and consists of two opposed side platforms connected to the station building by a footbridge. As part of the 17 March 2012 system-wide introduction of station numbering across all Tobu lines, it became TN-32. On 15 June 2024 the station exterior, ticket gate area, and waiting room were redecorated in "strawberry colour" and the secondary station name "Ichigo Kenkyūjo-mae" ("Strawberry Research Institute") was introduced.
Notes
On 15 June 2024 the station gained a secondary name, "Ichigo Kenkyūjo-mae" ("Strawberry Research Institute"), reflecting its proximity to the Strawberry Research Institute of the Tochigi Prefectural Agricultural Research Centre.
