History
Yanagibashi Station is a passing station on the Kurobe Gorge Railway Main Line in Funami, Unazuki-machi, Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture. It opened on 16 November 1953, after the Kansai Electric Power Company obtained a local railway licence. When Kurobe Gorge Railway was established as a separate operator on 4 May 1971, the station was transferred to the new company, which began operations on 1 July 1971. The station is restricted to Kansai Electric Power staff and is not open to general passengers.
Notes
A short branch line runs from the station to Kansai Electric Power's Shin-Yanagigawara hydroelectric plant, which is designed to look like a European castle. The station's single island platform serves two tracks and carries no facilities at all, as it is normally used only for trains to pass one another.
