History
Yabashira Station opened on 21 April 1955 on the Shin-Keisei Electric Railway, in Higurashi, Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture, near the western edge of the Tokiwadaira housing district. Extension of the concourse was completed on 31 March 1997, and a second station building, the Yabashira Station No. 2 Building, opened on 1 November 2003, adjoining the station building at third-floor level. Although it sits next to JR East's Shin-Yahashira Station on the Musashino Line, the two stops are operated as separate facilities. On 1 April 2025 Shin-Keisei was absorbed into Keisei Electric Railway, and the stop became a station on the renamed Keisei Matsudo Line, with its station number changed from SL05 to KS84.
Notes
The Keisei (formerly Shin-Keisei) station is read 'Yabashira', while the adjacent JR Musashino Line station, whose name adds 'Shin-' to the same 八柱 characters, is read 'Shin-Yahashira'.
