Location

History

WeSPa-Tsubakiyama Station opened on December 1, 2001 on the Gonō Line in the town of Fukaura, Aomori Prefecture, initially as a seasonal stop served only by the seasonal Resort Shirakami rapid sightseeing service. From December 1, 2002, all local trains on the line began calling here as well, and the station was upgraded to a regular passenger stop. It is unstaffed, with a single side platform serving one bidirectional track, and sits 56.0 kilometres from the southern terminus of the line at Higashi-Noshiro. East Japan Railway Company (JR East) has operated the station since its inception.

Notes

A preserved Class 8620 steam locomotive (number 78653), transferred from Kamine Park in Ibaraki Prefecture in 2006, stands on display at the northwest end of the platform.
