History

Uzumasa Station is on the Sagano Line (San'in Main Line) in Ukyō-ku, Kyoto, operated by JR West. It opened on 11 March 1989 between Hanazono and Saga (now Saga-Arashiyama), and station number JR-E07 was assigned in March 2018. The station has two side platforms; track 1 serves Kyoto-bound trains and track 2 serves Kameoka- and Sonobe-bound trains. Track configuration shifted to the present layout when the section between Hanazono and Saga-Arashiyama was double-tracked on 7 March 2010.

Notes

Seizō Fukumoto, billed as Japan's foremost "cut-down" bit-part actor, attended the ceremony held at the station in 2015 to mark the completion of its barrier-free works; he was invited because the station is close to the Toei Kyoto Studio Park.
