History
Uzen-Toyosato Station opened on 15 December 1921 on the Ōu Main Line in what is now the village of Sakegawa, Yamagata Prefecture. Freight handling ended on 1 October 1962 and parcel handling on 1 October 1970, the same date the station was made staff-less and put under a simple consignment. It transferred to JR East at the 1 April 1987 privatisation of the Japanese National Railways. The consignment was lifted on 1 April 2007 and the station became fully unattended. A replacement station building came into use on 29 March 2009, after the original wooden structure was deemed too dilapidated. The layout has been reduced from an island platform to a single side platform.
