History
Uzen-Matsuoka Station opened on 30 October 1935 with the opening of the Japanese National Railways Yonesaka East Line between Uzen-Numazawa and Oguni. It became a station of East Japan Railway Company at the National Railways' privatization and division on 1 April 1987, and is now an unstaffed ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track, managed by Murakami Station. It is located in Matsuoka, Oguni, Nishiokitama District, Yamagata Prefecture, and the waiting room has a notebook that travelers may write in freely. The sections on either side were closed by heavy-rain damage on 3 August 2022, and service on that section of the Yonesaka Line remains suspended.
