History

Ushida Station opened on 1 September 1932 on the Tōbu Isesaki Line, within the section nicknamed the Tobu Skytree Line; it is numbered TS 08. It has two opposite-facing side platforms on two tracks at ground level, linked by an underground passage and a track-crossing elevator; an elevator and multi-function toilet were added in 2006, and in 2013 the toilet was moved toward Asakusa with a new waiting room on platform 1. Platforms suit 10-car trains, but Tokyo Metro Hanzōmon Line and Tōkyū Den-en-toshi Line through-services normally pass without stopping. Today it mainly serves Asakusa–Kita-Senju shuttle trains, plus rush-hour limited-stop services, and stands close to Keisei-Sekiya Station on the Keisei Main Line, with which it shares a through-fare arrangement.

Notes

Between Kita-Senju and Ushida there once stood Naka-Senju Station, closed in 1953, whose freight branch to the Senju freight yard left track remnants that survive near Kita-Senju and at an industrial-waste site opposite the Tobu Delivery facility.
