Location

History

Urawa-misono Station opened on 28 March 2001 as the northern terminus of the Saitama Rapid Railway Line, a third-sector route extending the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line north from Akabane-iwabuchi. The station was built to serve the new Saitama Stadium 2002, then under construction for the FIFA World Cup, and includes a temporary platform (track 3) used only on heavy event days. PASMO support began on 18 March 2007, a western plaza opened in September 2013, and platform edge doors on track 3 entered service on 8 April 2019. Through-running to the Sōtetsu network via the new Tōkyū Shin-Yokohama Line began on 18 March 2023. The station is the only ground-level stop on the Saitama Rapid Railway Line.

Notes

The station has an extra side platform (track 3) that is used only at busy times, such as J.League matches and FIFA international fixtures at the neighbouring Saitama Stadium 2002.
