History

Uonuma-Nakajō Station opened on 15 November 1927 on what is now the Iiyama Line, 78.4 km from the line's starting point at Toyono Station. The station joined the JR East network with the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, and operates as an unstaffed halt with a single side platform serving one bi-directional track. It stands in the Nakajō area of Tōkamachi in Niigata Prefecture, with Uonuma-Nakajō Post Office and Nakajō Middle School nearby.
