History

Tsurushi Station opened on 19 June 1929 as Yamura-Yokomachi Station, a station on the Fujisan-Roku Electric Railway's Fujikyū Line, located at Tsuru 1-chōme, Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture, with station number FJ06. It was renamed Tsurushi Station on 1 March 1965. It became a commissioned-operation station on 16 March 1980. The IC card Suica became usable on 14 March 2015. From 4 March 2017 all rapid trains other than the Fuji Tozan Densha stopped there, but rapid service was abolished on 14 March 2020, leaving it a stop for local trains only. With the division of Fujikyū's railway business on 1 April 2022, it became a station of the Fujisan-Roku Electric Railway.

It was formerly a limited-express stop and is listed as Tsuru City's representative station in the JTB timetable, but has become a station passed by limited expresses since the opening of Tsuru-Bunka-Daigaku-mae Station.

Notes

Tsurushi Station stands in Yamura, the center of Tsuru City, with the built-up area extending from here toward Yamuramachi Station. Although there is a shopping street and other facilities around the station, the neighboring Yamuramachi Station is closer to various facilities such as Tsuru City Hall.
