History
Tsurusato Station opened on 30 March 1994 as a station on the Nagoya City Transportation Bureau's Sakura-dōri subway line, in Minami-ku, Nagoya, and was given the code S16. It is an underground station with a single island platform serving two tracks, built to accommodate eight-car trains of 20-metre vehicles, and the tunnel on the Nonami side is the only double-track shield-driven section on the Nagoya subway. Platform-screen doors were brought into service on 16 July 2011. The station is administered through the line's Imaike district office.
Notes
The tunnel on the Nonami side of Tsurusato is the only double-track shield-driven section on the entire Nagoya subway network, so with the right timing trains running in opposite directions can be seen passing close by.
