Location

History

Tsugaru-Goshogawara Station stands at 7-5 Omachi in Goshogawara, Aomori, next to JR East's Goshogawara Station on the Gono Line; the two share a passageway and a footbridge, but their station buildings and ticket gates are separate. The Tsugaru Railway opened it on 15 July 1930 as Goshogawara Station, at first using the national railway's building jointly. On 10 July 1956 the Tsugaru Railway's station was separated from the JNR station and renamed Tsugaru-Goshogawara, and from 1 March 1958 its operations were contracted out. It is the 0.0 km starting point of the Tsugaru Railway Line, a ground-level station with one side platform and one track, and the company's Tsugaru-Goshogawara engine depot stands on the premises.

Notes

Passengers alighting here drop their tickets and fares into the farebox, so the station's collection gate is worked only on days when the Stove Train runs and, at busy times, during a local cherry-blossom festival.
