Location

History

Tsudanuma Station is a junction passenger railway station in the city of Narashino, Chiba, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). It sits on the Sōbu Main Line at 26.7 km from the line's western terminus at Tokyo, served by both the rapid-service and local-service tracks. The station opened on 21 September 1895 under the original Sōbu Railway. It now consists of three island platforms serving six tracks, with an elevated station building and a Midori no Madoguchi staffed ticket office. Shin-Tsudanuma Station on the Keisei Matsudo Line stands close by and provides interchange with the private Keisei network.

Notes

The station's address is Tsudanuma 1-chōme in Narashino, but it sits right on the city line: while the station building and ticket gates are on the Narashino side, the western part of the platforms and the western end of the north exit extend into Maebarashi-nishi 2-chōme in neighbouring Funabashi, and the station also serves as a gateway to eastern Funabashi.
