History
Tsuchizaki Station is located in the Tsuchizaki Minato district of Akita City, Akita Prefecture, and is operated by JR East, with a JR Freight depot also based here. It serves the Ōu Main Line 292.3 kilometres from Fukushima, and Oga Line trains also call here, beyond the nominal terminus of their own line. The stop opened on 21 October 1902 and was absorbed into JR East on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of the Japanese National Railways. A 1.8-kilometre freight branch line formerly ran from here to Akita Port Station. The platforms are two unnumbered opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge, and the station is staffed.
Notes
The JR East Tsuchizaki Factory is among the landmarks adjacent to the station.
