Location

History

Toyokoro Station opened on 12 August 1904 as a stop on the Japanese Government Railways, on what is now the Nemuro Main Line, and lies 81.9 kilometres from Shintoku. Control of the station passed to the Hokkaido Railway Company (JR Hokkaido) on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of Japanese National Railways. The station has two opposing side platforms with two tracks, connected by an open-air footbridge; Platform 1, the main track running alongside the unstaffed station building, is normally used for trains in both directions, with Platform 2 in service only when trains need to pass. Japan National Route 38 runs nearby.
