History
Toyodahommachi Station entered service on 20 February 1957 on the Meitetsu Tokoname Line, 1.4 km south of the line's Jingū-mae terminus. Elevation works rebuilt the line on viaduct between 1983 and 1984, and on 10 December 2004 the Tranpass magnetic fare-card system was introduced together with the centralised station management system that de-staffed the station. The manaca smart-card system came into use on 11 February 2011 and Tranpass service ended in February 2012; the platform was raised and elevators added in March 2015. Today only local trains call at the single elevated island platform.
Notes
The district that gave the station its name — Toyoda-honmachi in Minami Ward — was abolished as an address in 1985, leaving the station carrying the name of a neighbourhood that no longer formally exists.
