History
Torihama Station opened on 5 July 1989 with the inauguration of the Kanazawa Seaside Line between Shin-Sugita and Kanazawa-Hakkei. The line is operated by Yokohama Seaside Line. The station is an elevated structure with a single island platform serving two tracks, and the building below is unstaffed. Automatic ticket machines and automated turnstiles are installed; the ticket machines were renewed and brought into service on 23 March 2005. The station carries the secondary name "Mitsui Outlet Park Yokohama Bayside-mae" in reference to the large outlet shopping centre directly outside.
Notes
Torihama's secondary name, "Mitsui Outlet Park Yokohama Bayside-mae", points to the Mitsui Outlet Park Yokohama Bayside immediately outside the station; the Yokohama Bayside Marina also stands nearby.
