History

Tōbu-Izumi Station opened as a station on Tobu Railway's Isesaki Line on 20 September 1935. The station's name is said to derive from the old local place name "Izumi," which is also carried on in the name of the nearby temple Ryūsen-ji. Note that for three months, from April to July 1929, before this station opened, the present Shizuwa Station (on the Tobu Nikkō Line) bore the name "Tōbu-Izumi Station," but its origin is unrelated and has no direct connection to this station. The station became unstaffed and a simplified-consignment station on 1 April 1974. Station numbering was introduced on 17 March 2012, and the station was given the number "TI 14." On 26 November 2024, the footbridge was removed due to deterioration and the west exit was abolished.

Notes

It is the only station on the Isesaki Line with a single platform serving one track, and until the removal of the footbridge in 2024 it also had an entrance on the west side of the tracks.
