History

Tōbetsu Station opened on 20 November 1934 on the Sasshō Line (Gakuen Toshi Line). It has one side platform (platform 1) and one island platform (platforms 2/3) serving three tracks on the otherwise single-track section of the line east of Ainosato-Kyōikudai Station, and electric services began on 1 June 2012 following electrification of the line between Sapporo and Hokkaidō-Iryōdaigaku. The station was renamed from Ishikari-Tōbetsu to Tōbetsu on 12 March 2022. Operated by JR Hokkaido, it remains staffed, with a Midori no Madoguchi ticket office, automated ticket machines and Kitaca card readers.

Notes

Tōbetsu carries the station code G13 on the Sasshō Line, also known as the Gakuen Toshi Line.
