History

Tezukayama-Sanchōme Station (HN07) is a Hankai Tramway Uemachi Line tram stop in Tezukayama, Sumiyoshi-ku, Osaka. It opened on 29 November 1900 as Tezukayama Station of Ōsaka Basha Tetsudō. After two changes of company name, the operator — by then Naniwa Densha Kidō — was absorbed into Nankai Railway on 24 December 1909, and the line became Nankai's Uemachi Line. The stop was renamed Tezukayama-Sanchōme around 1937. Subsequent operator changes — Kinki Nippon Railway in June 1944, Nankai Electric Railway in June 1947, and the present Hankai Tramway in December 1980 — followed the rest of the network.

Notes

When this stop opened on 29 November 1900 it was simply called Tezukayama Station; the present name, with its "-sanchōme" (3-chōme) suffix, dates from a renaming around 1937.
