Location

History

Terahara Station opened on 1 November 1913 as a stop on the privately operated Jōsō Railway, in what is now the city of Toride, Ibaraki Prefecture. The Jōsō Railway became the Kantō Railway in 1965, and that company still operates the station today as part of its Jōsō Line. The station lies 2.1 km from the line's official starting point at Toride and serves the city of Toride, close to the city hall and post office. It has two opposed side platforms linked to a ground-level station building by a level crossing rather than a footbridge or underpass, and is unstaffed.

Notes

Despite being on a private commuter railway feeding into greater Tokyo, the platforms are still connected only by a level crossing across the running line, rather than by an overbridge or underpass.
