History

Tejikara Station opened on 21 January 1926 as a stop on the Kakamigahara Railway. The railway was merged into Meigi Railway on 28 March 1935 and consolidated into Nagoya Railroad on 1 August the same year. The station has been unstaffed since 1 March 1967, and the Transpass ticketing system was introduced on 16 December 2006. Manaca IC card support arrived on 11 February 2011, with Transpass discontinued on 29 February 2012.

Notes

Although the station takes its name from Tejikarao Shrine, which stands just south of it in Kuranomae, the district actually called Tejikara — southwest of the station, beyond the Sakai River — only took that name in 1974, nearly half a century after the station opened.
