Location

History

Tateda Station opened on 1 July 2002 as one of the intermediate stops along the Asa Line, built and operated by the third-sector Tosa Kuroshio Railway between Gomen and Nahari in Kōchi Prefecture. An earlier Tateda Station had stood at very nearly the same spot on the former Tosa Electric Railway Aki Line. The current single-track elevated halt is unstaffed and carries station number GN38. Its working title during planning was "Nisshō", the name of a station that had existed on the old Aki Line.

Notes

Tateda is the nearest station to Kōchi Ryōma Airport. A statue of the station's mascot — a girl in a blue flight attendant's uniform, one of the Asa Line characters designed by local cartoonist Takashi Yanase — stands by the steps up to the platform, with a propeller-themed toilet block behind it.
