History
Taoji Station opened on 18 December 1928 with the inauguration of the Sanda Line of the Kōbe-Arima Electric Railway, in present-day Kita Ward, Kobe. The operator became the Shinyū-Miki Electric Railway through a 1947 merger with the Miki Electric Railway, and is today's Kobe Electric Railway (Shintetsu). On 20 March 1998 the Okaba–Taoji section was double-tracked and the station was rebuilt with an elevated bridge-style station building. The double track continuing from Okaba ends on the north side of Taoji, so a portion of Sanda-bound services cross with opposing trains here. The platform has effective length for four cars, with space reserved for extension.
