History

Takubo Station is a station on the Iyo Railway's Yokogawara Line that opened on 1 January 1967 in Takubo, Tōon, Ehime Prefecture. Until 31 October 1966, the neighboring station now known as Ushibuchi Station had carried the name "Takubo Station"; the two station names were swapped to coincide with this station's opening. It is a staffed station with a single side platform serving one track; the area north of the station has been developed as a housing estate and is now lined with many homes. Nearby are Shigenobu Post Office, Kōjaku-ji Temple (Sekishu Yakushi), and Ukesu Shrine, as well as National Route 11 (the Matsuyama East Road) and the Tōon Smart Interchange. Its station number is IY21.
