Location

History

Tanigumiguchi Station was established on 20 March 1956 as the terminus when Japanese National Railways' Tarumi Line was extended from Ōgaki Station. It became a through station when the line was extended between this station and Mino-Kōmi Station (now Kōmi) on 29 April 1958, and became a station of the Tarumi Railway when the Tarumi Line was converted to third-sector operation on 6 October 1984. Its station number is TR12. It is a ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track, though it formerly had an island platform serving two tracks. It is unstaffed, but staff are temporarily assigned during the cherry-blossom timetable period. A former JNR Ohafu 33-class car, modified as Ohafu 502, is preserved statically within the station.

Notes

A former JNR Ohafu 33-class passenger car, modified as Ohafu 502, is preserved statically within the station, and can be viewed on-site as a local railway heritage item.
