Location
History
Tamado Station opened as an unstaffed station on the Mito Line on 20 June 1988, as a so-called petition station. It is located at Tamado, Chikusei, Ibaraki Prefecture, in the western part of Chikusei City. A Midori no Madoguchi ticket office was installed in 1997, making it staffed, and the Suica IC card came into service on 18 November 2001. The Midori no Madoguchi ticket office ended operation on 31 January 2019. It is now a ground-level station with a single platform serving one track, a business-consignment station managed by the Mito Control Center (Shimodate Station), equipped with an automatic ticket machine, a boarding-station certificate machine, and a simplified Suica ticket gate.
Notes
It is a petition station, established at the request of local citizens, and operated as an unstaffed station from its 1988 opening until it became staffed in 1997.
