Location
History
Takata Station is an underground stop on the Yokohama Municipal Subway's Green Line in Kōhoku Ward, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, about 10.3 kilometers from the line's Nakayama terminus. It opened on 30 March 2008, when the Nakayama–Hiyoshi section of the Green Line began operation. The name comes from the local Takata area: the station was originally planned as "Takata-chō Station," but after the surrounding district was renamed Takata-Higashi in 1998, it was named Takata Station. The station has two single-track underground platforms stacked on two levels — the third-basement platform serves Hiyoshi-bound trains and the fourth-basement platform serves Nakayama-bound trains — making it the deepest station on the line. It serves a mainly residential neighborhood with medical and commercial facilities nearby.
Notes
The station's name is read "Takata," with an unvoiced consonant rather than "Takada," matching the reading pattern of its Green Line neighbors Higashi-Yamada and Kita-Yamada stations.
