History

Takanoko Station is a station on the Iyo Railway's Yokogawara Line that opened on 7 May 1967 in Takanoko-chō, Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture. On 14 March 1978 it was relocated to the east side of the adjacent level crossing, where it stands today. It is a ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track, staffed except during the early morning and late night. A ticket machine stands at the Matsuyama City Station end of the ticket gate, with a hut beside it used as a staff room and a restroom to the rear. The station fronts a narrow lane, and Takanoko Hospital and the Ōike pond are among the features nearby. Its station number is IY16.
