History

Tagawa Municipal Hospital Station opened on 13 March 1999 as a station on the Heisei Chikuho Railway's Ita Line, timed to coincide with the newly built relocation of Tagawa Municipal Hospital (1 February 1999). Its station number is HC13. Because the hospital stands on a hill, a local shuttle bus connects the station and the hospital. The total project cost was about 31 million yen, and the station was built as an unstaffed, ground-level station without a station building, with two opposed platforms of 45 m effective length serving two tracks, equipped with a barrier-free ramp. Projected ridership at opening was 200 boardings and alightings per day.
