History
Tachikōji Station opened on 10 July 1959 as a station on the Japanese National Railways Rikuu East Line. It is located at Tachikōji, Mogami-machi, Mogami District, Yamagata Prefecture, and is a ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track, equipped with a small station building that doubles as a waiting room. It became a station of the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) at the privatisation of the national railway on 1 April 1987. It is now an unstaffed station managed by the Shinjō General Center (Shinjō Station), and Eki-net Q-ticket service became available there from 1 October 2024. Houses line the road to the south of the station, while a little farmland and hills press close on the northeast side; the Toridegawa River and National Route 47 run nearby.
