History

Suwanokawara Station (C19) is a Toyama Chihō Railway tram stop in Suwanokawara 1- and 2-chōme, Toyama City, on prefectural road 44 (Toyama-Takaoka Line). Opened on 5 August 1952, the stop has staggered (chidori-shiki) opposed side platforms. On 24 November 2017 a car ran into the Yasunoya-bound platform, damaging the concrete vehicle barrier.

Notes

The stop's surroundings include Suwa-jinja shrine and the Toyama Prefectural Shrine Agency. Also nearby is the Matsukawa, a river listed among Japan's '100 Best Cherry Blossom Sites' and spanned close by the Funahashi bridge.
