History

Suhara Station opened on 1 April 1957 as Mino-Suhara Station on the Japanese National Railways Etsumi-Nan Line, in Suhara, Mino City, Gifu Prefecture. It was an unstaffed station handling only diesel-railcar passengers, with station number 14. It became a station of the Nagaragawa Railway when the Etsumi-Nan Line was converted to that company on 11 December 1986, and was renamed to its present name, Suhara, at the same time. It is a ground-level station with a single side platform serving one track and no station building, with a waiting room near the center of the platform. There is no automatic ticket vending machine; the entrance at the Hanno end connects by stairs to the sidewalk of National Route 156, which runs alongside the station to the east. There is a bicycle parking area on the west side of the station but no car park.
