History
Suehiro-Cho Station, D21 on the Hakodate City Tram Department's Main Line, stands in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Electric trams began running on this section at the end of October 1913: the Railway Ministry's register gives 30 October, the operator's chronology and city history 31 October. A 1917 stop guide lists a stop named for the foot of the Motoizaka slope; the operator's 1934 list prints it as Motoizaka. It was renamed Suehiro-Cho in 1943. The two facing side platforms were renewed on 27 November 2024, gaining an outbound ramp and an inbound canopy and windscreen, though the narrow road prevented widening. It lies between Jujigai and Omachi stops; the April 2024 timetable leaves only one morning service starting or ending here.
Notes
A crossover track near the neighboring Omachi Stop is used to turn back the first morning tram that terminates at Suehiro-Cho, and is also used for special and chartered tram services.
