History

Shōin-Jinjamae Station opened on 18 January 1925 as a stop on the Tamagawa Electric Railway. The Setagaya Line, on which the station now sits, was left as an independent operation when the rest of the parent Tamagawa Line was abolished in 1969, and is today operated by Tōkyū. The station carries the station number SG04.

Notes

Although the stop is normally unstaffed, staff are temporarily assigned on the entrance-examination days of Kokushikan University and its affiliated junior and senior high schools - for which this is the nearest stop - to collect fares and marshal boarding passengers. The stop takes its name from the nearby Shōin Shrine, and for passengers coming from the Sangen-Jaya direction it is also the closest stop to the Setagaya Ward Office.
