History

Shōgawaguchi Station is a station on the Man'yō Line in Shōgawa-honmachi, Imizu, Toyama Prefecture. It was established as a terminus on 9 November 1932 when the Etchū Railway extended its line from Shinminato-Higashiguchi (now Higashi-Shinminato Station), but was abolished on 25 December of the following year, 1933, when the line was further extended to Shin-Fushiki (now Rokudōji). It became part of the Imizu Line following the 1943 merger into Toyama Chihō Railway, and was effectively reopened as that line's Shōgawaguchi Station on 15 August 1952. It passed to Kaetsunō Railway's Shinminato Port Line on 5 April 1966, and to the Man'yō Line through a business transfer on 1 April 2002, continuing to the present.

Notes

When a 1976 typhoon washed away the Shōgawa river bridge and suspended the Shinminato Port Line, stranded rolling stock was used to run a temporary shuttle service between this station and Koshinokata.
