History
Shirasawa Station (Meitetsu station number KC06) opened on 1 April 1931 as Chita-Shirasawa Station on the Chita Railway, in Shirasawa, Agui, Chita-gun, Aichi. The Chita Railway merged with Meitetsu on 1 February 1943. The station was destaffed on 1 October 1949 and renamed Shirasawa on 1 December 1949. The platform effective length was extended from four cars to six in 1987. The central-management system was introduced on 25 January 2007 and the Tranpass common stored-fare card system on 14 February 2007; the manaca IC card began on 11 February 2011 and Tranpass ended on 29 February 2012.
Notes
Until around 1983 some local trains ran through Shirasawa without stopping, as they also did at the since-closed Mukugaoka Station; Handa-guchi and Age had already come to be served by every local train some while before Shirasawa was.
